Well, I finally gave in and let Jacob have a dog for upstairs. I didn't mean to, but we were waiting for Darren's car to get an oil change, and we wandered down to Petco. On weekends they have animal adoptions and some group brings in a bunch of dogs and cats. We were there too early, so she was just setting up, but she had this one dog in a cage with her, and she was talking to her while she was working. Since we had an hour to spare, Jacob and I sat and played with her. The lady told us that she was about 6 months old, had been at the Humane Society for about 4 months, and this weekend was her last chance. This dog is soooooo skinny - she is completely bones! And she is scared of everything… Between her puppy eyes and Jacob's I gave in and we took her home. She is a mix between Black Lab, Husky and German Shepard, but she is pretty small and won't grow too much bigger (we hope!).
